A case of great interest to dealers in stock cer tifleates has Just been determined by Judge Hagner, in the Equity Court. O.C. Green, a real estate and stock broker, purchased from the National Bank of the Republic a certificate for eighty-three shares of the capital stock of the Farmers’ and Mechanics’ National Bank of Georgetown, The certificate was inthe name A. H. Pickrell, and had been, by Pickrell, de- red to Thomas L. Hume, and by Hume de. posited with the National Bank of the Republic as collateral for a note of Hume's containing power tosell certificate in event of default in paymentof the note. ‘The certificate contained & power of attorney to transfer and assign the stock, represented’ by the same, which was signed by ‘Pickrell’ in. blank’ The note given by Hume being in default the bank sold the certificate to Green under the power given by the same.
