In pursuance of the act of the last Congress, declaring forfeited the lands of the Texas Pacific, Mr. Harrison, the acting commissioner of the general land office, on fhe 18th of March issued an order tothe register and receiver of publiclands at Los Angeles, Cal., directing him in to the steps to be taken to restore the land to the public domain. In the lower part of the state there are about 500,000 acres of land in this grant which also comes within the grant to the Southern Pacific. A supplemental order was Issued on the 18th ult,, reserving this land from the operation of the order, as it was thought the Southern Pacific might claim them.
