The New Aqueduct Tunnel. HOW THE WORK IS PROGRESSING. The following is a record of feet reached by the contractors in the headings of the different shafts of the new Aqueduct tunnel: In the east heading of Champlain avenue shaft 1,027 feet jed and in the west heading feet have been reached. In Rock creck led tn the east head- ny, 1,042. Foundry and in the west head branch shaft, cast heading, 1,522 feet is re- gorded, and 1,555 feet in ihe west heading. Howard University shat, which has only one heading—a west heading—in which 1,027 feet hax ed. There fs also one heading in the reservoir shaft, which is near completion, 205 feet having been tumneled.
