On the Sth of January James Kell, aged about 20, and Bertie Rowe, aged 1S, left Washington together for Charleston, S. C., the latter having in his posession about $100. Kell returned here a few days ago, and giving no satisfactory sunt of the whereabouts of Rowe, or why they separated, suspicion was aroused. A GIRL TERRIBLY CUT BY HER PARAMOUR. About halfpast 8 o'clock last night Peter C. Lynch, a barkeeper at Hagerty’s restaurant rushed out of Stella Horton’s house, on 13th street, with blood streaming from his hands. Inmates of the house hurried to the room of Gertie Pearson, one of the girls in the house, with whom Lynch has been Intimate for about five vears past. The girl was found coverd with blood, winiel flowed trom a. long cut in the left side of her head and from her hands. On the floor lay a big carving knife, the blade broken three pieces, and the point bent double. She id they had had a quarrel, caused by Lyneh’s vusy, and he assaulted her.
