A Great Cave-in. ACRES OF GROUND SINK AND & VALUABLE MINE DESTROYED. A great cave-in occurred at the Enterprise mine at Port Bowley, near Wilkesbarre, Pa., yesterday. At covers fully 250 acres, and the ground sunk trom four to six feet. The Lehigh Valley railroad tracks Sank five feet, and trafile was stopped for some hours. The air tn the mines was driven with the violence of an explosion, and forced its way out of the shaft, almost totally wrecking the inside workings.’ The ground Is covered wiih seams and cracks for. several hundred feet, and five houses be- longing to muners in the employ of the company are wrecked, und six mules were killed. Five hun- dred persons are thrown out of employment. The owner of the mine was offered $300,000 last week Tor his Interest in the coat left, but declined the offer.
