Metzerott. 2 SKETCH OF HIS CAREEK—HIS ENTERPRISES IN THIS CITY. ‘Mr. Wiliam Gustave Metzerott died Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock at hishomeon 12th street. ‘Bis death removes from the community one of its Most valuable citizens. Bond on Trial. ‘MRS. CARR TELLS HER STORY IN COURT. ‘To-day, in the Criminal Court, the case of Dr. 8. S. Bon, charged with having committed a rape on the person of Mrs Loulse Carr, on the 27th of Mai t, Was called for trial before Ji wy- le—Distriet Attorney Worthington prosecuting, and Mr. W. A. Cook for the defendant. The first witness was Mra Carr, who, before kissing the Rible, ratsed ft and said somewhat | dramatically: “1 call upon God to witness that I shall not speak auytitng but the truth” she | testified that Dr. Bond had been attending her child; thai on the morning of March 27th last her husband toid her to take “the child to Dr. Bond's | ollice and she did so, «hd the doctor toll her that he would go to her house in the afternoon; that | Dr. Bond called in the afternoon when the child Was asleep; he Saw the child; De Bond had been to sea witness before (on Maren Ist), and ed the ch of Aprur did not tell him before because she Was atfuid that he Would Kill the doctor and be hung for it. MRS. CARR CROSS-EXAMINED. (On cross-examination witness sald she came from Ohio, and lived at Rockville, Md, about eight Years ago,andcame to this city about six years ago; Was married April 4th, two years ago.
