The veterans resumed thelr session this morning at Abner’s Hall, Gen. Denver presiding. The ab- sorbing question of interest was the selection of the next place of meeting. Philadelphia and New Or- leans were mentioned, but after considerable dis cussion it was decided to hold the next meeting at St. Louis October sth next. Gen. Albert Pike offered a resolution declaring that upon the death of a veteran his oldest son uguld represent him in the association. This was objected to by some, and the resulution was finally Teferred to a committee ecnsisting of Messrs. Pear- son, of St. Louis, Robinson, of Ohio, Tuffts and Clark, of New Jersey. ‘The association then took a recess until 12:30. RECEIVED BY THE PRESIDENT. When the association resumed its session this afternoon a motion was adopted to call on the President in a body, to invite him to the banquet at Abner's, at 8 o'clock th ening. At two o'clock the veterans, marshaled by Col H, A. Reynolds, the pre: Philadelphia, and escorted by the representatives of nine posts of the G. A. R., under command of Col. Cameron, the Union Veteran Corps, Capt. Thoma- son, and First Corps Union Veterans, Capt.
