Robinson, were put on trial before the Police Court to-day for robbing a Young man named Jos. Bury, of a wateh, by for- cibiy taking it from his person. The charge was Drought under Judge Snell’s new law for punish- ment of larcenies from the person. This is the first case brought under this liw, which provides a punishment in the penitentiary. Young Bury stated that on the night of the 80th of last month he was met on C street, between 12th and 13:h, by the defendants, and Bachelor struck him in the hose an{took his’ waten from him.
