About noon to-day a large crowd assembled in front of Zurhorst’s undertaking establishment, No. 320 Pennsylvania avenue east, to see the last of the unhappy young man, Frederich de Frou- ville, Who on Tuesday night ‘slot and killed his wife, Andrea de Frouville, and then killed himself On the spot with the same pistol. The funeral was very quiet one, and only a imitea number of the deceased man’s friends were present—the only relatives being his mother and sister, who came from Cumberland, Md., toattend the funeral. The coffin was a handsome rosewood one, with silver handles, and a silver plate, with the 'inscriptio1 “Frederich de Frouville. Died April 3d, 1883, 82years.” The pall-bearers were all friends of the deceased, and were: Edward Quigley, John Mc- Namee, John Pearson, Joseph W. Knight, John M. Shomo and Jas, Douglass. Chaplain Samuel Kramer, of the navy yard, read the funeral ser- vice, after which the procession started for Glen- ‘wood cemetery, where the interment took place. ‘The funeral of Mrs. de Frouville wilitake place from her late residence, No. 610 A street south- east, at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon. The interment will be made in the Congressional cemetery. A MAN PRIGHTFULLY MANGLED BY A RAILROAD TRAIN. ‘The residents of East Washington were startled this morning again over the discovery of a colored man inthe tunnel of the B. & P. raliroad, who had been killed by a train. The engineer of the mall train duo at the west end of the tunnel at 11:10 o'clock this morning gave the first Information of the accident to Sergeant Hamilton and OMcer Dunnington, whom he in- formed that an accident of some kind had taken lace in the tunnel, Thess officers and the flag- Man at the tunnel started through and Priv: Lusby went over the top to meet them at the other end. When about half-way through theydiscovered the body of a colored man with his skull mashed tn and his legs gone, the body Delng still warm. ‘The legs of the dead man were found soveral yards on the Outside of the east end of the tunnel, show- ing that he was struck by an out-going train. The body and limbs were frigutfully mangled, and the aecident must have occurred only a few minutes previous to the discovery by the oflcera The re- mains of the dead man were gathered up and brought to the 8th precinct station house tn a push cart. The decessed was apparently about thirty Fears old, and papers found on his person indicate that his name 13 R. D. Johnson, of No. 1230 York avenue northivest. Rerdell told witness that he was in communtcation with the govern- ment. Witness asked him what he knew. and Rerdell said, “I am fall, I am full.” Witness asked him then how he could go on the stand after making so many contradictory statements, and Rerdell said that they did not want him to coon the | stand; all they wanted of him was to give them | “pointers,” | The cross-examination was finished about half- | past two o'clock. MORE TESTIMONY AS TO MINOR'S DEPRESSION OF SPIRITS, AFTER RECERS. A recess having been taken, on reconvening the defense called John Higgins, who testified that he lived near Minor; knew his wife was away from him last fall; during which time he acted strangely; didn’t seem to have presence of mind— rambling in talk, referring to his wife leaving Lim as put upon him by the Almighty for his idieness towards God. Saw Minor on F'street on the morn- tng of the homicide and spoke to hm, but he did not reply. On Sunday about two weeks before | Minor sald that he felt bad, and did uot believe | that he would live long. Cross-examined.—After Minor’s wife returned he appeared more distant then formeriy. Mrs. Emma Higgins corroborated the witness, her husband, and in addition said Minor when speaking of his'wife would cry. About eiht days before the homictde he sald that ue felt badly. Mrs. Cordelia Snow testified to a change in Minor's condition during his wife's absence—his actions being entirely different from what they were previously.
