About 10:20 yesterday morning the body of Dennis Donovan, about 35 years old, a watchman atthe Aqueduct bridge, who lives near Geonge- town college, Was found in the canal at thé foot of Potomac street, The search which resuited in finding the body was instituted because Miss Lilie Swan, who lives near the Potomac street Teported that between 18 and 2 o'clock lay morning she heard an altercation, then heard something fall down the steps of the Bridge and after that a splash in the water, During the altercation she heard one voloe say: “Now Ihave fixed you, I guess,” and just Defore the splash _an- other voice says’ “0 God! don’t kill me!” Just Previous to that she heard the words, “You —, you struck me, dit yout” When this story came to the ears of Officer Burrows he secured the ser- vices of Philip McDonald, who dr: the canal and found Donovan's body.
