Steamboat Captat Suspended, General Dumont, the-supervising inspector gen- eral of steom vessels, has received a report from the local inspectors in regard to the collision be- tween the steamers City of Alexandria and Mat- tano on the 23d of November. The inspectors give it as thelropinion that the officersin charge of both steamers, actuated by a spirit of rivalry, did not exercise proper precaution to avold collision.
