THE MURDERER WEEPING AND LAMENTING HIS FATE IN JAlL—WHAT HB SAID TO A STAR REPORTER TO- DaY. Immedtately after the coroner's Inquest on the body of Victoria Minor, who was murdered by her husband, Frank Minor, at 823 F street south- east, yesterday, the body was given in charge of the family, and Minor was sent to jail. He ar- Tived there about four o’clock, going down in the Police Court van, and was assigned to cell No. 2, first floor. This cell adjoins that in which Guiteau was first confined, and into which Mason shot at him. When Minor first arrived he was ‘Yery composed and spoke to other persons appar- ently indifferently, saying, “I told my wife if she didn’t stop running about I would cut her throat, and I did it” FEAR AND REMORSE. During the night he evidently commenced to re- flecton the position to which he had brought him- self, and to-day, his feelings having. undergone a complete change, he gave way to tears. This morning he ate but little, and he has been lying down most of the day, with his face on his pillow, which was wet with sobbing. When a Stax reporter and an officer of the Jail visited his cell to-day he reluctantly got up, and when asked what the matter was he replied: ‘Tam in trouble. Ihave always tried to do right, but somehow I got wrong, and I know my sours dependence is in Christ. I will uy aoa place) myself in his hands, relying on his mercy alone.” While saying this his eyes were filled with tears and he was evidently suffering mentally. He was so affected that his voice was hardly above a whisper and his words could ‘scarcely be understood. ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE FUNERAL ‘The wounds about the face of the deceased were sewed up by Dr. Hartigan, giving the face a pre- sentable appearance, The remains have been coffined at the house, and have been viewed by an immense number of people to-day. The society of which the dead woman was a member met. last night to arrange forthe funeral. The body will be taken to Zion Baptist church Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, where they will lay tll 1 o'clock, when the funeral services will take place, Rev. ‘Wm Gibbons, the pastor, officiating. —_.—__ ‘The General Land Office.
