It ts probable that the divorce case in which the ‘Dill was filed originally by ex-Senator Christtancy, charging his wife, Lilie M. Chfisttaney, with adul- tery at the St. James hotel on December 25th, 1860, will soon come'to anend. It wilt be remembered that Messrs. Cuppy and Ingersofi fled the Dill, and that a few weeks afterward Mr, J. N. Oliver, bd Mrs. poten it wast 2e eee ort the charges, and also a cross a ancy with cruel treatment. — Mr. B. F. The testimony already taken covers over 4,000 paces of fi cap per. About the last of June Mra. Chi ncy withdrew her cross biil, and Mr. bene d filed a supple- mental bill, in which he preferred against her the complaint of desertion. What brought about this action 1s not known to a certainty, but it Isevi- dent that both parties were becominy disgusted with the Ings, and that the publicity given from time fo time to the testimony wus not at all agreeable to them. Then, ag the procurement of Wtnesses and the payment of their expenses taxed them beyond their expectations, it is prova- Die that measures were agreed upon to end the ¢: As it now stands, as soon as the testimony is Do aphids to the courta decree may be obtained, and it ts understood that the testimony will bo re- ported in a few days. a ASE The National Rifles?
