Yesterday, Guiteam received one of his regular tri-weekly visits from his minister, Rev. Dr. Hicks, of the Tabernacle church, and they spent nearly two hours together. The conversation (suggested by the prisoner) was on the subject of inspiration. In the afternoon Mr. Reed called and informed the prisoner of the adverse decision of Mr. Justice Bradley on the appiteation for a writ of habeas corpus. Guiteau reccived this news with a smile, and sppeared to be more cheerful under ft than did Mr. Reed, However, Guiteau’s manner soon afterwards showed tliat he realized the hopeless- ness of his ease. it has been evident during the =t Week that, despite the prisoner's disavowals, he has rel.cd upox the efforts of Mr. Reed to secure from Judge Bradley a writ of habeas corpus.
