Mrs. Scoville in a subsequent Interview says she had dreaded meeting her husband on account of the temper shown by him. She said he wrote to her that if she did not stop lecturing and papel | im behalf of her brother, he “would make it so hi for the three Guiteaus that the two who were not hung would wish they were.” She has realized $200 from her New York lecture, and was to have appeared In Boston and elsewhere but for Mr. Scoville’s interference, In their talk she told Mr. Scoville she proposed to rent a home for herself and lecture to save her brother. ING OF Extensive Shipments of Young Fish. MILLIONS OF POTOMAC SHAD AND HERRING TRANS- PORTED. ‘The U.S Fish Commission to-day made a very extensive shipment of young shad and herring to various parts of the country. One million shad and 2,000,000 herring were sent to Austin, Texas, where they will be placed in the fo river: ‘300,000 shad to Farmville, Va., to stock the waters of the Appomattox; 300,000 to South Carolina; 300,000 to the Rappahannock river, and_390,000 to the ee Potomac, at Harper's Ferry. The you! fish will be ti rted in closed tin 1s, eac! pall holding trom 2,000 ‘to 25,000 fish. The Quantico ishery, which has just been discontinued, the shad having moved further up the river, netted alone over three million shad and sixty million herring. ‘The Fish Hawk, the government vessel stationed at Quantico, under the command of Capt. Z. L. Tanner, will ‘immediately proceed to the Susquehanna fishery, just below Havre de Grace. Upto the present time there have been shipped this year and deposited about six million shad.
