The first six rooms on landing at the head of the staircase are for the exclusive use of the Crown Princess. One of them is a bath rooom of a simple style, but provided with every comfort, the walls and bath are tiled in blue and white, the furniture in white. The adjoining room is the Princess's dormitory, its walls hung with light- blue tapestry, the curtains and carpets of a darker shade, the hizh and beautifully carved baldaguin bed, with light-blue silk hangings, together with & tollet table, some arm chairs and tabourets forming the whole of the furniture. Above the totlet table is placed a large mirror in richly- gilt carving. From above the mirror, held by @ rosette of lilies of the valley, the favorite flowers of the Princess, lace curtains drop down to the floor. A high white painted and gilt door leads to the third room, the toilet chamber, which is also decorated ‘in bine and gold, and contains the necessary toilet furniture, including @ magnificent fulltength tumeau.
