What these men are doing ts not pruning, but a wholesale lopping off of the most Valuable branches. Insiead of tuinning them cut to allow a circulation of the air, they are amputaling those branches which are most neceseary to the growth and life, a8, for tn- stance, the top Drauches, and are reducing the tree to a shapeless lump. Verily, If this con- tnues, no one at present iving will ever enjoy the shade of these trees.
