Decoration Day Notes, Yesterday afternoon George Washington Post G. A. R., No. 103, of New York, whose arrival was nolced tn THE Stak of yesterday, returned from Mount Vernon, where they had decorated the tomb of Washington with flowers. The visitors were met by the Union Veteran Corps, | Capt. S. E. Thomasion, aud were escorted to the Arlington hotel. In addition to the decoration of the soldiers’ graves in the cemeteries in this neighborhood yesterday, tlowers were placed on many other graves, and the cemeteries were filled with vieliors who were engaged in laying flora: terbutes on the resting-places of relatives and friends, and many flowers were planted. At Prospect Hil cemetery, (near Glenwood), there are <6 German soldiers Interred, and the decoration of these graves (ook piace yester- day afterncon, under the direction of the Ger- man Veteran Club, Mr. Hago Etchhoitz presi- dent. There was @ iarge number of our Ger- man citizens present, and after a salute by the District of Columbia Artillery, the assemblage gathered about the grave of the late Cot. Curtis was charged in the Police Court to day with having assaulted Robinson with the intent to kill him. He pleaded guliry to the charge and was committed to jall in default_of bonds for the action of the grand jury. The excitement at Harper's Ferry yesterday was peculiar. Mr. Huater, who was the state's attorney against Brown, sat just tn rear of Douglass, and gave him the band of congratulation when he had done. ‘The corner stone of an addition to the col- lege, to be calied Anthony Hall.in honor of Mr. Anthony, of Providence, R I., a relative of Senator Anthony, was laid. To-day, in the Criminal Court, Judge Cox, the trial of Isaac Brown, which was commenced last Friday, was resumed—Mr. A. P. Morse for the defendant. Brown tscharged with bigauy in having December 34, 1572, married one Ciara Harris ailas White, and on July 20th, 1350, one Maria Plummer. Theophilus Feels More Like his Alleged Self. Dr. Louis A. Stimpson was produced before Referee Underhill by the council of the alleged Theophilas Youngs yesterday. The project of en- larging by the purchase of a private lot in the rear has been abandoned, and it is not un- likely that the committee may recommend an enlargement by tearing down the side fronting on New York avenue and building flush with the butiding line, which would add very mate- rally tothe seating capacity; also extending the tnterior capacity by taking in the vestibule portion abd changing the pulplt to that end of the church, The formof the churen 13 now square, and by this change it would become slightly angular, but this would not detrac’ from its symmetry and would add mach late- ror space.
