Between the village and the river the country has much of the quiet besuty of 8 rich farming district se well as elements of the pictur esque. Near the margin of the Hudson are the hills of Nyrck, while due east, as tae crow fies, is the place where Irving lived and died. Three miles from Sprivg Valley. upon 2 pleasant eminence, ‘Mr. Von Weichs and lady settled some years amo. ‘their house is comfortably and evea elegantly ap- pointed, and their hospitality ies del'xutfal blend- ing of that of the Fatherland ama America. At this pleseant houte our reporter stopped a fewmin- uter, recently, while én route to tic hilieof Nyack, and was the recipient of its Kindly hospitality In the short conversstion which ensued @urine bis brief visit, the name of the «rest German remedy, St. Jacobs Gil, was futroduced. Mrs. Von Weichs immediately said she was familiar with the nedidne, and remarked upon its great curative properties in language which left no doubt of ber tincerity. Ourious to know how this modi- cine won its way to the'affectipns of the lady, the reporter exprested his desire for such information. Mrs. Von Weiclis replied that previous to removing to \heir present home, they had lived in New York for teven years, and were there msde acquainted They employed it in the family and amoux the servaats for every oniform euccess tiem whic, if properly treated with the great remedy, cond not be cured. Long experience e and cure almost that could be mentioned. In her hougehol it was used as a cure-all. No member of the family thonght for a moment of employiue t St Jacobs (il for headache, neu - rheumatism, burng, bruises, spraing, ete couldn't berin to do without it now. They ecl lost if they cid not have a larze stock of and. ‘They always purebase it in « aarter oF half gross lots. No, they didn’t have use for eo much in the family, but the nelgubcring farmers friquently need it, smonz whom the remedy very popular, and always let them have wh: again the St Jscobs Oil is as yood for btrees and cattle as for man, and they use it on their horses all thetime. Not long since one of the cows was kicked by a horse in the stab! yard. ‘lke poor beast was eo badly hurt that she could not walk. of themen about the place was directed to use the St. Jacobs Oil very liber- ally. In a dsy org the cow, which was avaluabio one, wes well and ag frisky ss ever. Yes, very mavy of the neighbors had been cured of rhew tiem by St. Jacobs Ofl. Several who had been severcly frosted during the intense coldf the past winter, had applied the great German remedy and experienced speedy cures. Here Mr. Proderick Schultz, a neizhDor, came into the room, and joined his voice in the general praise of thé unive: ssiremedy. Mr. Schultz ssid that it was his fan, ily physician, and he had never yet found it wan’ ing. At onetime he cut his foot very badly. The wonnd healed, but {t was 80 tender for @ long time any physical pain that he could not use ft. He tried many things to restore the member to its usual etroug condition, but without effect. He at last applied St. Jacobs quick time. iildren, Oil, and it fixed him up in exceeding!; Mr. Schultz alsovstated that he had rix of whom were sick with sore throat. F description the reporter gleaned the fact the sore throat was diptheritic in its charac- ter. The children were very sick, indeed, and it was thought for some time that they could not recover. Tired cf tecins them treated by the ordinary methods in the cure of puch cates, and feeling a eatural desire to sea is darlings recover, Mr. Schultz finally deter- mined to take charge of the cares himself. He, therefore, commenced using the great German remedy ss prescribed by the directions on the wrapper of the bottle. He had the satisfaction cf seeing them experience relief with ‘he first applica- tion, and had them up‘and restored to health ia two or¢hree days. Mr. Schuitz said that the greas German remedy was good for everyting. One of his neighbors, Mr. Leonard Singer, hs.i hia ears terribly frosted this winter, and was saifering very «reat agony. Mr. Schultz bathed his friend's esrs with the St. Jacobs Oil several times and the ears were cored. He (Mr. Schultz) was of the opinion that the &t. Jacobs Oil was the bast medi - cine ever made, and ke could not eed how a family could get sleng without it. The next to testify to the wobderful remedial qualities of the Great German remedy was a youn lady, & member of the Von Weichs hourehold. Miss Hammond said that she certainly felt pleasuré in saying 6 good word fcr St. Jacobs Oil. It had done wonders for her at 8 time of great pain an 1 nead. She was stricken down with a severe attack of in- flammatory rheumatism: It was qnite useless to aitempt a desoription of her sufferings. It was just simply terrible. As the dieease attacked her knees is waa tmpcasible to walk, andeven the slightest movement added to the torture she endured. From the deseription given of the young lady, her ease ‘was certainly one of unusual geverity, even for in-| flammatory rheumatism. Well, Miss Hammond continued her remarks sbout her sufferings, and eaid that the only thing which wou'd give her any relief was the §t. Jacobs Oll, the persisient aid judicious application of which finslly effected = complete and radical cure. Now ecmes the most wonderful revelation which it has been the pleasure of the reporter to chronicle about the performances of th's won- der-working Oil. Mrs. Von Weichs is a lady of rare intellicenée, ard one whose cont ton evinces @ wide raoge of knowledge spon medical rostters. Mrs. Von Weichs taid that ehe firmiy believed the owed her life to St. Jacobs Oil. She at oze time suffered with inflammation of the sxm- ach. Almost {rom the first moment of the attack the digease was of ® very aggravated character. Her physician wss 3 good one, but he was unable to gubdue the trouble. It was finally deemed necessary to call in consulting physician. Two men of science did their beat to conquer the dis- ease, butit grew worse steadily. Finally the doc- ters pronounced her ease hopeless, and said she must die, Mrs. Von Weichs was spprised of the decision of her physicians. -Then, said the lady. she thought it time to eal) in the services of Bt: Ja- cobe Oil, a8 the regular physicians could got call ber from the grave. 6he, therefore, ordered cloths to be saturated with the reat German remedy and laid upon her body. Wonderful as it may eeem, it was not long before she began to feel esfier. The treatment was continued and the lady grew better every day, and finally she was able to sit up; then to walk about the room, end th she realized in a few more days that ehe was per- fectly reatored. Yes, her cure was entirely the work of St. Jacobs Oil. The best medical skill had been calied.ia to treat her case, but it failed, and medical skill faidshe must die. The great German remedy came im the nick of time end saved her from the grave. Gould it be a matter of wonder, thon, unger the circumstances, that she believed in the erest German remedy and recommended it to everybody” imcments of grest pain, aud ways got rejicf. It was sstandsrasrticle in the familie: of the re- gion. Many people livin wader the shadow of the Nyack hilis had cause to be grateful to Bt, Jacobs Oil.
