Davids, the active ‘No. 127 William street, New York, the largest Ink house in the world, has been using the reat Ger- man remedy, the reportercsiled upon Mr. Davids to get his views upon a question of such sreat im- portance to the public as the curative power of St. Jacobs Oil. Mr. Davids, who is one of the best known business men in the country, received the reporter with every mark of courtesy, but was ex- ceedingiy reluctant to talk upon the uestion. The reporter assured Mr. Davids there would be no un- pleasantness about the procseding:; that his oxps- rience was Gf value a8 bearing upon @ subject whose importance to the public health bad long since lifted it above any mere question of dollars and cents or advertising and placed it upon the bread level with other questions of general interest to the people; the uestion of St. Jacobs Oil and health was no longer the exclusive interest of the house owning the trade mark, but a «question of every day in- dividual and public discussion. Mr. Davids re- plied that he dil not have any confidence in patent nostrums, and would under no circum- Stances use or endorse them. But that the manner of introducing St. Jacobs Oil and the genera! x00d words spoken of it, had induced him to employ it in seeking relief from the panes of rheumatic xout, a disease which he inherited. and which at times proves very troubleso.ie. He had used the remedy with very «reat satisfaction, indeed. It relieved him within twenty-four hours after com- mencing to apply it of a pretty sharp attack of his ereditary for. He was, therefore, disposed to think kindly of it as an extremely efficacious lini- ment. Mr. Davids further stated, that Bt. Jacobs Oil Lad been used by members of his faaily for neuralgia, and, in onecase for the mumps, with the most gratifying results. While all this was true, Mr. Davids stated, he felt a creat reluctance to making 8 statement to appear in the press, but he would yield in thisinstsuce, and the reoorter ‘was at liberty tomake what use he pleased of any- thing that had been uttered on the subject of St Jacobs OM.—Neir York Hxchany-.
