Dr. Godding resumed the stand, and continned is examsnation-in-chief, A number of hypothetical questions, based on the actions of defendant as testified to by pre- ceding witnesses, were asked and Dr. Godding gald that unsoundness of mind was indicated. District Government Affairs. THE GEORGETOWN MARKET. In the District Commissioners estimates of expenses for the next fiscal they ointtted to note the recommendation of the building in- spector for the repairs of the Georgetown mar- ket house. The proposed reconstruction of the south one-story bullding of the Georgetown market, as set forth in the inspector’s annual report, contemplates the taking down of the entire wing to the floor, and rebuilding at a cost of about $2,000. This ‘embraces the plan of leaving a roadway of 56 feet at the south end to let_carrlages pass around the market, and is geLerally desired by the citizens of George- town. VITAL STATISTICS. ‘The total mortality in the District of Colum bia for the week ending Saturday, February 5th, 1881, Was 92, (being 22 more than the week pre- vicus,) or at the rate of 26.53 per 1,000 per apbnum. Of the decedents 24 were white males, 23 white females, 20 colored males and 25 col- ored females, showing an annnal death rate of 20.37 per 1,000 for the white and 39 for the col- ored population.
