The necessity for sthool | sites in this section has been urgent for years. He regarded the request of the petitioners as a bold attempt on the part of private persons to get hold of public property. Mr. Curis hoped that the board wouid adhere to its former action, and he was ready to go before the public on this question. It was a question of brains or beet, erithmetic or artichoked grammer or greens. ‘The idea was being exploded that the public shou'd be taxed to erect build! for the ac- commodation of those who sell , and he Could see no reason why those who sell wood and coal should not have the same accommoda- | tons.
