District Government Affairs. a In response to a communication from a citi- zen requesting that Mt between 14th aad I6th streets, be repaved with asphaltum pave- ment, the Commissioners state that there are other streets in equally bad condition, which are more important than this. The amount of work which can be done in repaving during the present year will depend on the receipts from taxes. Colonel Wm. Keyser, vice president of the paltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, to-day psid up the reaF and personal taxes on the company’s property in this District for the year ending June 30, 150, amounting to $4,000. Sev- eral other considerable amounts were also paid to-day, among them the National Hotel person- al tax, amounting to §1.000.
