ANOTHER IMPORTANT RAILROAD COMBINATION. Mr, Jay Gould Extending his Grasp.—The New York Journal of Conunerce learns from what It deems a reliable source that terms for the con- solidation of the Kansas Pacitic and Union Pacitic railroads have been agreed upon. It been agreed that the stock of the roads shall remain as at present, $13,000,000 for the Union Pacific and $7,000,000 for the Kansas Pa- cific. Arter the consolidation suficient stock of the Union Paeifie ts to be tssued to retire the stock of the Kansas Pacific at the market price of the Union Pacitic. As it is reported that Mr. Jay Gould holds about five-sevenths of the stock of the Kansas Pacific, this arrangement, and the amount of Union Pacific held by his friends, will give him absolute control of the road. ‘The mortgage bonds will remain as at present a len on the respective divisions for the completion of which they were issued. One result of this consolidation will be to give to the Union Pacitic two outlets at Its eastern end, one as at present at Omaha, while the Kansas Pacific connects at Cheyenne and unites it with the Wabash system of railroads at Kansas City. Under the act of incorporation the Union Pa- cific was compelled to distribute all freight landed at O1naha equally amon; cen- tering there. After Un lidation the man- agement can evade this, in case favorable terms cannot be arranged, by sending their he be to Kansas City, via Cheyenne, and forw: it by the Wabash system. DIED. ARR.
