Charles Fisher, well-dressed and intelligent, and claiming to bea lawyer from Delaware, Stood up in Magistrate Pole’s presence yester- day accused as an accomplice in the thefts of valuable law books, for which Henry Brown and William Smith ‘were recently convic‘ed. Fisher cross-examined each witness with legal acumen and argued his own case siilifuily. Henry H. Holloway, book dealer, Tenth and Market streets, testified that a dictionary was stolen from lis place and recovere Weish’s, Sixth and Walnut streets.
