The Workingmen’s Assembly met last night, Mr. Richard Emmons in the chair, and J. J. Meaney secretary. Messrs. J. Clarkson, T. F. Maher and W. W. Lewis presented credentials from the Press- men’s Union, No. 1, and they were admitted to membership. . Mr. Railston, from the executive commitiee, submitted a report upon the Labor Exchange, in which it was stated that the committee finds the Exchange einploys from forty to fifty men at the rate of fifty cents per day. their efforts being so far to improve private prop- erty. The workings of the Labor Exchange were severely commented on“ the report, which was temporarily laid on the table. A PROPOSED LIEN LAW FOR MECHANICS AND LABORERS.
