A FINE IMPROVEMENT AT THE WEST END. The new Convent (on Connecticut avenue, | above L street) of the Sisters of the Visita- tion, who for many years have been located at the northwest corver of 10th and G streets, is Just now receiving the finishing touches of the workmen, and the sisters will move in next week, in order to be prepared for the | opening of the school on Monday week, Sep- tember 3d. The building is an imposing stroctore, built on @ portion of the square bounded by Connecticut avenue and ifth, L. and DeSales streets, the latter street sepa- rati.g the grounds from the northern half of the squere, which the sisters some time since told, and upon which fine residences have been erected by Senator Sargent and others. The extreme length of the new convent is 212 feet, with a depth of 77 feet, four stories in height, besides the basement and a sub- basement v6 by 71 feet.
