Hutton, the father of the de- ceased, was first sworn, @nd he testified that be returned home at 3% o’clock, and his little daughter was in the room. His oldest daughier, Kate, called her out, and told her to ge to Mr. Driscoll, at the Lafayette House, to get @ doctor, as Estella was sick. Mr. Driscoll sent for two doctors, rot in. Officer Shilling this morning in patrolling bis beat noticed a colored boot-biack having op & pair of shoes answering the aeseription of the property stolen, arresting him took bim to the 5th precinct station-house, where he found on bim a white silk et bandkerchief, a pen knife, and ninety-five cents in movey, part of the property stolen. The boy, who gave bis pame as Thos. Grady, owned up to the theft, and stated that he bad buried the balance of the articles in the ‘White Lot. The officer repaired to the place indicated, but could find nothing there. Grady was carried to the Police Court and sentenced to six months in jail. "ASE OF APOPLEXY IN THE Post OrFiIce PARTMENT.—At about? p. m. to-day Mr. James Nicboison, of Pennsylvania, a clerk in the Post Office department, was suddesly stricken with spoplexy while in nis room at the department. Dr. Lippincott, of the Sixth Auditor's office, Dr. Hateb and Dr. C. #. Purvis. happened to be in the building at the time, and on examining bim pronounced ihe case one of apoplexy, and advised that Dr. C. C. Cox, bis regular physician, be at once sent for.
