This affair was kept from the Knowledge of Mr. Jobnson until he received a dispatch 13- questing bis immediate presence at home. Soon after bis arrival a company of about fifty ladies marche! Sainn.—In our corporation court report of Thursday the mention was omitted that the grand jary,on tuat day, bad found @ true bill of indictment against George R. But the fact stands that he bas failed to do so, and that the cit, sergeant having been armed with @ benc Warrant issued by Judge Lowe for his arrest on the finding of the indictment, has so far failed to find bim, and there 1s ample ground for the statement that he has left the city. Moore on @ negotiable note for #862 In January last. It is stated that on this forged note he obtained its nominal value, in credit, or some other way, from Josephus Carr, esq..of Loudoun. It will be remembered that Mr. Shinn fatled in busi- ness last winter, with labilities toa number of persons. Charges of conduct unbecoming ® merchant were then preferred against him before the corn exchange, and he was sus- pended temporarily from membership. He was, for some time subsequent to his failure, in extreme sickness and his mind much affected.
