Richmond, Va., was visited by a severe thunder storm last night, accompanied by wind. A number of houses were unroofed and otherwise da: . Many shade trees in the city were unlimbed and strip) of foliage. Seabrook’s tovacco warehouse, used during the war as a general receiving hospital, had the southern section entirely demolished, the sheds being lifved bodily aad carried into the streets. Every- thing was prepared for a cruise of several days, and at four o’clock the joyous party, consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Garner, Miss Miss Adele Hunter, Mr.L B. { New York, Mr. Gardiner, J. Howland and J. 8. Crosby, and crew of aboat fifteen persons, embarked. The yacht was anchored about five hundred yards from the club house, and, althongh indications Ppolnt- ed toa change in the weather, Rollins, the sailing master, seemed either to disregard them or to be ignorant of their preseuce. The boat was kept under full sail, with cen- ter-beard down, and anchored fore and att, when Rollins, evidently apprehending d er, ordered the anchors to be rais hile this was being done a sqc struck the yacht, and in a mom she was capsized and under water.
