Young and Ewer, of this city, and the Philharmonic Society as the chorus, numbering one hundred voices. Tue andi- ence was a critical one, but the rendition of this great work more than satisfied them. Titlens’ noble vocal i had full play in the grand passages of this oratorio, aud ‘her audience could better judge her superiority asasinge: than by the concert programme of a few weeks ago. Messrs. Ewer and Young both had leading parts, and their singing was worthy of their reputations in musical circles here. Titiens’ fluest efforts were greeted with the warmest recognition on the part of the auditors, and during the evening she was the recipient of a very bandgome basket of flowers. The chorus Was directed ¥ Prof. Caulfield, and Prof. Walter presided at the organ. Altogether, the performance showed the ability of our home talent to give the best music of the masters in bangin gon style, as with a lesser light in place of the great prima donna the performance would have been in every way creditable.
