On that day there will be elections In twenty-four states, for eleven Governors, seventeen legislatures, two hundred and twelve Congressmen, and to determine thirteen seats in the United States Senate. There will also be elections in three territories for delegates in Congress. In Illinois a legis. lature, state officers, and nineteen representa- tives in the 44th Congress are to be elected. The state senators elected in five districts this year in Illinois and serving in the legislature of 1577, will then partipate in the electionof = United States Senator, vice John A. Logan, (Rep ,) whose term expires March 5, 1877. Alabama elects a Governor and legislature andcight Congressmen. Arkansas elects four Congressmen.
