Whereas, in obedience to the requirements of the act of the Third Legislative As Pembly, approved June 25, 1873, entitled “An act to enforce and provide for the col- lection of all taxes that may be in arrears in the Dist rict of Columbia on or after duly first, eighteen hundred and seventy-three, and authorizing the Governor to an- ticipate the revenues from the same,” the Collector of Taxes of the said District Gid issue certain certificates, as provided for in section two of sald act, for the amount due and unpaid for taxes upon certain real estate in the said District, levied by the several acts of the Legislative Assembly of said District, approved respect. vely August 28, 1571, and Jane 20, 1872, “for the support of the government of the District of Columbis, and for other purposes,” for the fiscal years ending June 30, 12, and June 20, 1573, and including the smount of penalties and cost incurred: aad whereas, the owners of certain of said certificates have demanded in writing by indorsement thereon, after the expiration of one year from the date thereof, that the Collector shali enforce the payment of the liens, and have filed the said certificates, Dearing the required indorsement, in this office; I THEREFORE GIVE PUBLIC NOTICE TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, that the following resl estate within the District of Columbis, being pieces of property against which said certificates have been iseued, and for the enforcement of the payment of which the demand for the sale of said property has been made, will be sold at public suction, for cash, to the highest bidder, under and in accordance with the provisions of the act first above mentioned, (approved June 25, 1873,)on THURSDAY, the fifteenth day of October, A.
