Lee was admitted to the bar. Messrs. Dayidge, Wells, and Stanton were acpointed the committee to examine applicants for admission to the bar. On motion of Mr. Lambert, the application of A. A. Lipscomb was referred to the committee. After calling the calender, embracing 45 cases, the court stated that they would take up the business regularly to-morrow, setting ten cases exch day. On the morning of the 12th a meeting of the membere of the bar was called to take the sub- ject inte consideration. Mr. W. D. Davidge pre- sided and J. Carter Marbury acted as secretary, A series of resolutions were adopted deprecai- ing the circumstances, and Coe & com- mittee, consisting of Measrs. W. D. Da’ ge, P. K. Fendall. J. C. Kennedy. J. J. Coombs, 5 Philip, Enoch Totten, J. D. McPherson and J.J. Jobnaen, to Inquire into the facts, and “report the same with such recommendations asthey may deem sdvisable to the bar at a meeting thereof to be held on the first Tuesday of September, 1874. Bradley show cause on or before the 4th day of November next why he should not be punisbed for contempt of this court by reason of said offensive conduct and oy gn 8 towards one of its members, and relating to the official acts of said justice, and it is further ordered that until he final disposttion of ths order the said Joseph H. Bradley shall continue suspenied from practice in this court.” On November 10 the case was joo ay by Hon. R. J. INTERESTING LEGAL Point DectpED.—The contested election caze at Cornwall, Vt., has breught up the interesting question whether a witness in court is obliged to state for whom he has voted at an election. One refused to do it, on the ground that the state constitution pro- vides for the secrecy of the ballot, while the opposite party claimed that the provisions for concealment are intended to apply only to the moment when the ballot is cast, and if a man is asked in court whom he bas voted for, he must answer.
