He writes, however, to a friend that his physicians pronoance his siiment (which was in the left arm) to be nothing more serious than rheumatism from an old hurt, but they give him the consoling assurance that his arm will be more or less crippled for life. Fortu- nately his pen-arm is not dissbled, and he has not only supplied rather more than his usual quota of editorial copy for his Capital this week, but, under the inspiring twinges of rheumatism, it is said to be rather more incisive than usual.
