Dr. Cox called the attentionof the board to tea offered for sale here. and said that there was but little doubt but some, perhaps much of that offered for sale here is adulterated, and he suggested that the health officer procure sam- ples and have them analyzed preparatory to a report to the board. j rT. Marbury said that there were other mat- ters of far gréater importance, and if they be- gan this work there would be a@ necessity for increasing the number of inspectors and the expenses. They had some time ago considered the question of the adulteration of milk, but on account of their financial condition could do nothing; and at this time he would be com- pelied to vote against any proposition on the subject. It was doubtless true that at the so- = “tea stores” adulterated tea could be found. Dr. Verdi said he was satisfied there was much adulterated and poisonous tea sold here, and aithongh dealers might be honest, many he believed had unwholesome poisonous com- pounds on gale. ° THE SUIT AGAINST COLUMBUS ALEXANDER.
