The committee, by a vote of 5 to 3, agreed to report a bill in the main in accordance with the views of Capt. Eads and Prof. Forshey. Tue Senate Committee on Civil Service and Ketrenchment considered this morning Senator Wright's bill, which proposes to re inc» the pay of subordinate employes of the Senate, and to apportion the Executive department clerksbips among the various Congressiona districts. No vote was taken on the bill, but it was evident from the discussion that the com mittee almost unanimously disapproved o! its provisions.
