When the chapter in relation to elections was reached, Mr. Trimble moved to amend by providing that the ballots should be written or printed on plain white paper. Mr. Dyer argued that it was necessary for some electors to vote understandingly, that there should be some distinctive m1 upon their tickets. MEETING OF THE BOARD oF ScHooL Trvs- Tees.—The Board of School Trustees met last night, and a commun‘cation was read from Miss Della Ross, an acting teacher, complaining of the injustice of paying her but forty dollars per month, instead of sixty-five dollars, as allowed. to other teachers. On motion of Mr. Dunlop. Miss Ross and Miss Heughton were appointed full teachers, with salary at sixty-five doliars per month, to date from January 1, 1874, for the scholastic "year. On motion of Mr. Curtis, it was ordered that Mr. Dunlop be directed’ to insare the new school building at once to the amount of $15,000. The secretary and treasurer were ordered to provide ice for the schools during the beated term. On motion of Mr. Beall, Mr. Duulop was authorized to reinstate William: Ritter in primary school No. 6. An application for the admission of Riley Cumberiand into a rehcol was declined under the rule that permiis for admission must cease May 1.
