M. Sperry, the general inspector of the freedmen’s banks, wae sent to Atlanta to make an examination. The deficit in Corry’s accounts was discovered on the 25th of January, and be evidently anticipated trouble, as on the day before he wrote to Sperry admitting he had taken some seven or eight thoasand doliars of the bank’s money, and showing where on his books to find the deficit. He did not state, how- ever, what he had done with the money.
