It is stated that Bliss not long since castigated | his second daughter—about tv years old—very severely. The young ladies have no mother, the present wife of Bliss being their stepmother. The officers state this moru- ing that it is ascertvined that the duty assigned this female was to attend all fanerat: as a | mourher for the purpose of locating tue graves | and to take a note of the general surroundings | order to facilitate the active partuer in bis | night operations. | A REMARKABLE DIARY. | In our report of this startling care on Satur- | day it was stated that the diary found on Chris- | tian contained a large number of entries, sto ¥- ing the wholesale extent to which he had carried | on his business of robbing graves for the dissec- tors’ tuols. it seems by this diary and the letters accompanying it that Christian, under various aliases, was in correspondence with medical schools all over the countsy for the sapply of ‘eadavers” or corpses, and that he had made | very complete arrangements with parties in this city to post him and give him personal aid, with a division of the proceeds of the business. SINGULAR HfSTORY OF THE GRAV#-ROBBING BUSINESS. The diary which ts in cool business form commences with January Ist, 1874, and the first entry relating to body-snatching is on the 3d ofthat month as follows: “B. and C. went out | and got two cadavers to-night.
