After our telegraphic report of the Udder- z00k trial closed yesterday, Mrs. Annie Rhodes, sister of Udderzook, testified that the accused came tosee her husband, and had an interview with him in the woods. Staple goods are nominally firm in first hands at the recently re- duced prices, but there are yet some brande of sheetings, shirtings, &c., which have not par- ticipated in the decline, the reduction of which | will be necessary in order to equalize values. | Woolen goods are inactive. The movement in spring weights of cassimeres, &c., is retarded by e stringency of the money market, which re- strains clothing manufacturers from com- mencing operations, and the trade in these oods will probably open later than usual. loths, dark cassimeres and overcoatings are very sluggish in first hands, and transactions are restricted to lots which are offered at job prices. Colored wool flannels continue in mod- erate jobbing request for small quantities, but blankets aré quiet, colder weather being needed to give an impetus to their distribution. Ho- siery is quiet in first hands, and but lightly dealt in by the jobbers. General dullness per- vades the market for imported fabrics, caused hed backwardness of the retail movement, which exists in all quarters.
