Gregory, of New York, and Miss Lucy F. Maury, of Washington, ‘were married at Trinity P Shurch last evening in ‘the presence of a large namber of friends. Rev. J. J. Keane, of St. Patrick’s Charch, arrived in New York yesterday from Europe, where he has been since June last, and will return to Washington on Friday. ‘The Choral Society met last crenng at the residence of Lewis J. Waggaman, real estate broker and auctioneer, has sold, for Appleby and Edmonston, trastees, house on J5th street, between K and L street! day, near Williamsport, Pa., John McLaughlin, ed thirty years, was murdered while driving team on the public road in Cascade township, in Lycoming county. He was found lying in the mud with his breast and throat mangled by & gunshot wound. His cousin, Jas. McLaugh- lin, started for his house in the morning with a shotgun, and as he bas not returned, and the.e was bad blood between the parties, it is feared he committed the murder. Thisis the fourth county within six months. Nelson E. Wade will be hanged on Dec. 6th for committing two of them. Comancue Inpians On THE Wak Pata.— The St. Louis Republican has a special dispatch from Denuison. Texas, which says Lieut. Quimby, from Fort Richardson, has arrived there and reports the Indians in that region very hostile. Several murders have been com- mitted by them during the past week, and a great deal of stock run off. A family living near Ouachita were butchered, an the settlers fed to a ranche in that vicinity, where they ere besieged by a ee 3. Two ompanies of soldiers left Fort Richardson, on Monday, in pursuit of the savages. The greatest alarm ¢xists among among the frontier settlers. The Indians 'e believed to be Comanches. —On Monday, Judge eilson, of the city court, Brooklyn, rendered his decision on thé application to continue the breach of promise suit against the late mayor of the city, tin Kalbfleisch, against the estate. The question whether an action of this nature wus closed by the death of either litigant was, in New York, at least, undecided. For this reason the suitof Mrs. Mary Wade has attracted attention. The arguments were heard, and the judge reserved bis decision pending a careful examination of the papers. Owing to a press of court business the decision was not reached until Monday. The amount of money involved is $2,000,000. Mr. Hardin, who was an importer of linens, died about eighteen months ago, without children and intestate. His nephews and grand-nephews, who have come from Bel- fast, Ireland, claim the property, insisting that Mr. Hardin was not married. ‘The testimony stamp which makes the impression, in circalar orm, of the legend “ U. $. After the best inquiry it is now possible to make, we adhere to our former state- ment, that the deficit will not fall short of $300,000. How much of this stolen money will be returned is a question yet to be determined. Doane, a genial gentieman and good comman River News.—The schooner M. J. Farley has arrived from Saulsbury, Md., with 60,000 feet of lumber for Joseph and J. £. Libbey. The steamer New York arrived from Philadelphia with a full cargo of gencral_ merchandise, and cleared for the same port. The E. ©. Knight arrived yesterday afternoon from New York with a fall cargo. including 100 tons of iron for the navy yard. The steamer Columbia has also srrived from Baltimore, and cleared for the same port. Grain Trape.—The canal boat Nettie Gra- ham has arrived with 1,200 bushels wheat, 12 tons mill feed and 181 barrels flour for Joseph G. and John M. Waters. Also, the canal boats Round Top and S. H. Davis with 1,600 barreis cement for the same firm. The schooner T. P. Morgan arrived Legon! from Alexandria with 1.000 bushels wheat for Hartley & Bro., and the boat Monocacy with 2.000 bushels wheat and 1,000 bushels corn for H. M. Ta!bott. The only sales reported to-day were 1,000 bushels wheat at $1.60 and 1,200 bushels do. at $1.68. ALEXANDRIA.
