Tae Senate VAL ComMMITTEER, at their meeting this morning, agreed to report favorably certain bills relative to the pay of naval officers who were dropped from the rolls by a board of officers, by the act of Febrna . 1855, but who were afterwards reinstated and promoted by the President, to take effect from the day of their retirement. These bills give officers of this class the difference between pay they received when retired and the pay of the rank to whic were subsequently promoted by the P Mr. Conliss, of Rhode Island, was before the committee relative to his claims against the engineer bureau of the Navy Department, but the committee took no action. a Society.
