Se ee JAY GouLp’s RestiTuT1Ion.—The more clear- ly the facts in reference to Jay Gould's “resti- tution” are brought out, the more evident do>s it seer that the whole affair is a di tal . It was foreseen that the addition of nine millions to the Erie treasury would cause a rise in the value of the stock, and Jay Gould speculated largely on that calculation some on before his wonderful “restitution.” It is believed that bis gains from this source alone may bereckoned by millions—perhas some or the other persons who knew what was going to happen improved the occasion in the same way. By the same judicious tactics, Jay Gould caa estore two millions more next week, cause another rise in the stock, buy it in anticipation of a rise, and get back four millions for his two.
