The invention consists in a simple con trivance by which the driving wheels are m ule to increase or diminish their “bite” upon the rail by being raised or lowered, at the will oi the engineer. The practical effect of the invon- tion will be to render the construction of feed- ers to the main line of railroads a matter of easy accomplishment, as wooden rails can be used, and trains run on the grades of ordinary turn.
