Mr. Boswell testitied that the harness was taken from him yesterday after- noon. and after searching for the thief some tine he discovered him offering it for sale at the stable of Mr. Murphy, on 4\ street, South Washington. He walked in and caught hold of the man, at the same time charging him with Stealing the harness. He had turned it out of a bag on the floor, and when accused of stealing it be denied it; at the same instant he caught hold of Mr. Bosweil’s left hand, and tn strug- ling to get loose bit him very badly in three ifferent places on the hand, inserting his teeth at every grip. An Illinois crazy man last week escaped trom the county insane asylum at Jefferson and took to the rai'- road track.
