The plaintiff, a colored man named John Colston, alias Mumps, of this was @ half brother and only heir at law of Lewis Quander, colored, deceased, who had married Susau Pierson,a slave of Levi Burke, by whom he had several children. The point in controversy is whether under the act of the legislature, passed February 27th, 1896, the children of @ slave woman, marricd while siavery existed, are made legitimate and divest the right of the heir at law upon whom descent was cast betore the passage of that act. The suit was an action of ejectment by the piaintity against Susan Pierson, who was in possession of the landin controversy. The decision will be looked for with interest.
