W hen she became seated she looked around the room until her eyes rested upon Dr. Haston, upon whom she bestowed a giaring gaze for several seconds. She did not seem at all dis. turbed during the giving of her testimony, but Buswered atl questions in a clear and calm tone of voice. It was rumored before she was called that a written statement prepared by her had been placed im the bands of the prosecutin, 1, Rey. Dr. Gardiner, and would be re: 8 ber testimony; but this proved untrue, as she ¥ as examined as were other witnesses. HER STATEMENT.
