It was captured upon the per- fon of one of the members of the order recently arrested and tried in that State. The suit, which is of black cambric, is in three parts. The first is a covering for the head and shoulders, con- sisting of a long-pointed cap, widening over the shoulders. The portion dver the face is shaped into a mask, with eye-holes bound with white cloth, and a mouth having a binding of red flan- nel. ‘A false nose of red dannel, yes horns of white cloth stuffed with cotton, whiskers and eyc#brows of long white hair, are the other fea- tures of the face. Above the face appears the Greek cross in white cloth, and yet above this the characters “K. K. K. . 40." The other parts of the disguise are a gown, and pantaloons with a body, faced with white cloth. The whole concern looks like an absurd masquerading suit, but is undoubtedly the disguise worn by the North Carolina Ku Klux gang when just as they were about hanging one of thelr vic- ims. — +200+ Guanp Lover, I. 0. 0. F.—Closing Proceed ings —The Grand Lodge of the United States finished its business in Chieago on Saturday evening last, after a session of six days. The question of the German mission was de- bated at length on Saturday. The sum of $200 was asked ior forthe extension of the order in Burope. but the Grand Lodge declined to ap- priate the amount. It is expected, however, that Dr. John F. Moore, who has been the dep- uty of that district the past year, will again be appointed special deputy. Last year the Grand “Lodge, yielding to nu- merous requests to allow encamoments to chapeaus, yielded so far asto 2 ‘ow a uniter he rey In some jurimlictious this was con- strued to mean permmsion to wear chapeaus, but the Grand Sire, by a proclamation, forbade the same as illegal. The Grand Lodge, on Sat- urday evening, reversed this decision, and leaves the question now in a shape whereen‘ampments may wear the chapean. The Grand Lodge decided that the funds of a lodge are to be held sacredly for the relief of members, and arc not to be used for pic-nics, Pon apenas ete., or any other purpose of that ind. The Grand Lodge refused to order that Dangh- ters of Rebekah may retain the'r membership in their lodges even thongh their husbands may have ceased to be members.
