The game was one of the worsgthe Mutuals have playeil this sensem, and they may consider them- felves extremely lueky to have won it at all. That the Olympics played a poor game is appa- rent from the fact that out of sixteen rans made by the Mutuals only five were earned. The uzm- piring was on a par with the play, and was out and out the worst exhibition we have seen Mr. Bomeister make. The game was set for 3:30,and five minutes after the appointed time play was called. the Washington men going first to the bat. The game opened well for the Mutes, as they blanked the Olympics three times in sue- cession, while they made six runs in the same time. In the fourth and fifth innings the Olym- Plans only made two runs, one in cach, but the utes put on two runs in the foarth, and were whitewashed in the fifth. This left the game 8 to 2 in favor of the New Yorkers. The sixth inning, however, made aconsiderable alteration, -as in it the Olympics scored five runs without being entitled to any, and the Mutes only put on one, the game now standing at 9 tot only in favor ef the Mutuals. The next three innings Were very interesting from the really muffin Play on beth sides, and the game ecneluded with the Mutuals victors by seven rans. Both clubs will have to improve materially if they are to have a ghost of a chance for the championship.
